Log - Setup

In the page, you can change many of the global settings that affect the log system of the "Net Time Server & Client" and the "Net Time Server & Client Service". To access this "Log - Setup" page, select the "Log" item then select the "Setup" item from the tree menu on the left side of the "Main window".

Log events

In this "Log events" tree, you can specify log events which will be recorded to the log list in the "Log" page and which will be displayed in the tray balloon. Also, you can specify the background colour and the foreground colour for every log event, these colours will be used to display corresponding log entries in the log list in the "Log" page.

Log event settings

You can use the section to change the settings for log event that is highlighed in the "Log events" tree.

Foreground colour

Specifies the foreground colour for the log event that is highlighed in the "Log events" tree. The colour will be used as text colour when display the corresponding log entries in the log list in the "Log" page. Also, you can click on the colour rectangle in the "Foreground colour" column in the "Log events" tree to change the foreground colour for the corresponding log event.

Background colour

Specifies the background colour for the log event that is highlighed in the "Log events" tree. The colour will be used as background colour when display the corresponding log entries in the log list in the "Log" page. Also, you can click on the colour rectangle in the "Background colour" column in the "Log events" tree to change the background colour for the corresponding log event.

Record the log event

If you check the box, the "Net Time Server & Client" or the "Net Time Server & Client Service" will append the corresponding log entry to log list in the the "Log" page when the log event that is highlighed in the "Log events" tree has occurred. Also, you can check the box in the log event column in the "Log events" tree in order to append the log entry when the corresponding log event has occurred.

Show tray balloon tips

If you check the box, the log event that is highlighed in the "Log events" tree will be displayed in the tray balloon too when it has occurred. Also, you can check the box in the "Show tray balloon tip" cloumn in the "Log events" tree in order to display the corresponding log event in the tray balloon when it has occurred.

Global log settings

The section defines the global settings for recording log information, including the maximum size of the log file and the maximum number of the log entries in the log list in the "Log" page.

Maximum display rows

Specifies the maximum number of log entries in the log list in the "Log" page, the oldest log entries will be automatically deleted when the number of log entries in the log list reaches the number specified here.

Maximum log file (KB)

Specifies the maximum size of the log file, in Kilobytes. the oldest log entries will be automatically deleted when the log file reaches the size specified here.

Disable to sort

Checking the box disables the log list in the "Log" page to re-sort when click on a column header of the log list, and the log entries will be always sorted by the its generation time.

Automatically scroll

Check the box to automatically scroll the log list upwards in the "Log" page as each log entry is added to the bottom of the log list in order to view the newest log entry.

Default settings

Press the button to restore the checked status of all log events to thier default values in the "Log events" tree, including all checked status of checkboxes in the "Log event" column and the "Show tray balloon tip" column.

Default colour

Press the button to restore the colour settings of all log events to their default values in the "Log events" tree, including the foreground colour and the background colour.

Apply

Click the button to accept and save current log configuration.

Cancel

Click the button to cancel current log configuration and rollback to previous one.
